Well ,It’s approved now.Nokia N85 has been approved by F.C.C allowing it to be sold in US with 3G support.The Federal Communications Commission ,as always, is good in spoiling the suspense or hype made by the company about an upcoming phone and now it’s Nokia N85’s turn.You can take a look in the actual F.C.C Page by following through here .No guarantee that you are going to understand a single word unless you are so good in technical details about communications device.Just for a start , SAR or Specific absorption rate is a measurement of radiation used for defining safe mobiles.

Spice Mobiles is launching Spice X-1, its mobile gaming phone, that comes with a dedicated gaming console and is pre-loaded with a variety of games.
Users can either connect the gaming console to the phone to play or use the phone’s dedicated gaming keys. The 2.4-inch display has auto rotate feature and the phone features a 2-GB expandable memory card slot.
The phone is equipped with Yamaha-amplified 3-D surround-sound, a 2 MP camera, FM radio with Record-and-Play feature and stereo Bluetooth.
The Spice X-1 comes pre-loaded with an Opera mini-web browser and WAP/MMS/GPRS features and costs Rs. 8,899 [ Price in India ] ie, it’s around $200.

Airtel ,India’s largest mobile operator , has announced that they will start shipping the much awaited Apple iPhone in India , one of the largest mobile markets in this world , from August 22 .Airtel and Vodafone had earlier announced that both of them will be shipping Apple iPhone in India but with Vodafone shipping 15 days earlier than Airtel due to their contracts with Apple in other countries.
“iPhone has been the iconic technology revelation of this year, “said Sanjay Kapoor, president of Mobile Services at Bharti Airtel. “Airtel has been at the forefront of innovation and customer delight in the Indian telecom sector. Introducing iPhone 3G to India further underscores our commitment to enrich the communication experience of all Airtel users.”
Earlier in July Apple had announced that they will be releasing Apple iPhone on August 22 in 20 more countries .So with Airtel India’s announcement ,India is there in the list.But as of now there are no reports about the price of iPhone in India but i think that they will be following the contract usage for 2 or 3 years with iPhone locked into their networks.Also with Vodafone making no announcements it’s more likely that they have decided to unveil iPhone on August 22nd itself ,or else they will have to start shipping it tomorrow for taking that 15 day margin and that’s highly unlikely.
With Japan’s carrier for iPhone reducing the 2 yearly contract rate to $29 , Indian consumers will be hoping to get lower priced iPhone.Some rumours are there that it will be costing 9000+ Rs for 8GB version and 14000 Rs for 16GB version, But It’s not yet official.

Volkswagen officials has announced that the new 2009 Volkswagen Golf will be launched in Europe in October.Overall, Volkswagen has changed the external look slightly like the side mirrors which are aerodynamically designed to get less dirty and reduce wind noise and so on.
Internally, Volkswagen has replaced the Automatic option with Dual Clutched DSG [Direct-Shift-Gearbox ] transmission.and it will be either 6 or 7 speed unit.The notable changes includes the higher fuel effieciency which everyone was expecting after the new VW Jetta TDI.The new Volkswagen Golf is having supercharged or turbocharged Petrol [TSI] or diesel [ DSI ] engine which improves its mileage up to 52mpg.

BenQ has announced that their latest Mobile Internet Device a.k.a MID ,BenQ Aries2 is ready to be launched in the Europe within couple of weeks.The company’s Free Surf UI, which allows users to shake the device to minimize and align active windows, impressed the judges with its “unprecedented operation experience of mobile Internet and complete removal of consumers’ usage barriers in handheld devices.”
Externally the device is surely eye catchy with 4.8 inch WXGA display with 800 x 600 resolution .The device is powered by Intel Atom 800 Mhz with 512KB Cache and has 512MB RAM and 4GB SSD storage.The extra features supported by it includes wireless connectivity through WLAN 802.11b/g , Bluetooth 2.0 + EDR and it supported HSDPA networks.
The price of the BenQ Aries2 is not yet known.

Micron announced that they will be shipping their RealSSD ,a faster Solid State Drive [SSD ], by the end of the year.The RealSSD is twice as fast as the SSD’s present now in the market.Two models of the RealSSD series has been announced by Micron , C200 and P200.
The P200 [Performance edition ] is having 2.5 inch form factor and is based on single-level cell (SLC) NAND .Capacity of the P200 series will vary from 16GB to 128 GB with read and write speed of upto 250MB/s.It achieves sub-millisecond latency while a typical enterprise HDD has an average latency of approximately eight milliseconds, dramatically reducing the data seek time inherent with conventional HDDs.
Designed for the notebooks, the C200 on the other hand is available in both 2.5 inch formfactor and 1.8inch formfactor built on multi-level cell (MLC) NAND Technology.It has a reading speed of 250MB/s and writing speed of 100MB/s.Capacity is 256GB for the 2.5inch form factor whereas it ranges from 32GB to 128 GB for 1.8inch formfactor

Id Software has just released two new Rage screenshots, showing off the game’s mutants.John Carmack [ Technical Director, id Software ] said that the Xbox 360 version is going to be worst among the platforms in which the game is going to be released.He says that it’s not feasible to produce a 3 DVD title for Xbox due to the royalty charges which has to be paid.

High Tech Computer (HTC) is planning to start shipping its first Google Android-based handsets by the end of 2008, according to company CFO Hui-ming Cheng.HTC is one of the big player in the Open Handset Alliance [ OHA ],who is getting ready to launch Android trotting against the Symbian OS.
Further , in the press announcement he noted that they are getting ready to ship the Xperia X1 handsets to Sony Ericsson soon. HTC revenues are expected to grow 10% sequentially and 30% on year in the third quarter, buoyed by the planned launch of CDMA, GSM and sliding form-factor HTC Touch Diamond handsets, Cheng indicated.HTC has shipped Touch Diamond handsets to 50 telecom operators in more than 30 countries so far, Cheng noted.However, Cheng said that HTC’s gross margin will be reduced by one percentage point in the third quarter as compared to the second quarter due to the rising ratio of ODM handsets.Market sources in Taiwan indicated that HTC is expected to start shipping Xperia X1 handsets to Sony Ericsson in the third quarter, pushing up the ratio of ODM handsets.The ratio of ODM handsets will continue to rise marginally in the fourth quarter of 2008 but it is unlikely to surpass 10% through the whole year of 2009, Cheng noted.
