Modu modular cellphone , Customize your phone with jackets

Guys , any one wants to dress up their phone everyday just like you change your dress.Well at least all those females will be dreaming about dressing their phones by now. Modu , a newcomer in the phone manufacturing world, founded up by Dov Moran, who first got the patent for USB Flash drives which are now an essential thing especially for business men and students.

Here’s the first true modular phone,Modu , which can switch its cover (known as jackets ) just like putting a coat over you.Plus the jackets can be specifically made enhancing the feature of the phone. For example , Lets say , a music enabled jacket which has music keys specifically or consider a gaming jacket which makes the Modu all set for gaming. How cool is that?!

“It’s not like the top five companies where everybody makes devices similar to the others,” said Moran referring to Modu, in which he has invested $5 million.

Indeed Modu is going to have a tough competition. where even the third largest cell phone manufacturer , Motorola is planning to make Moto phones popular by splitting it from the parent company.

The Modu is being currently backed mainly by Sandisk which is having the patent for USB drives now.And SanDisk believes that Modu can make $1billion in 2011.Certainly much larger optimism than that you would have been expecting from a starter in the cell phone business. Also they are expecting to jump into profitable sales by 2009.

The Modu has currently managed to come into an agreement from service providers in Russia , Italy and Israel .The Modu phone will be out by October in these areas.Also Universal Music , owned by vivendi is developing Music Geared jacket for the phone.

Music jackets aren’t the only ones coming up.The company goes as far as telling us that we can expect to see jackets for the phone at airports and even bookstores.and they are telling us that “travellers could pick up a jacket designed with in-built features such as restaurant guides for their destinations”. Now we cant resist that offer
