Sony Ericsson finally unveiled their new G series phones, the G700 and G900.Both of them runs on Symbian UIQ 3.0 as speculated before.G700 and G900 are in fact very similar to each other matching each n every specification except for the Camera and WiFi,G700 is having a 3.2 Megapixel camera while that oft he G900 is 5 Megapixel Also G700 doesn’t have the WiFi.

Sony Ericsson G700 and G900 are the smallest and lightest among the smartphones released by Sony as of now , having dimension of 106 x 49 x 13 mm and weight of 99g.Both of them are having touchscreen controls .Also you can use  either the keypad or the touchscreen whenever you wish.They support GSM 900\GSM 1800\GSM 1900\UMTS 2100  networks and offer standby time of 380 hours and talk time of 12 hours. Improved battery life :).Also both of them are having internal memory of 160 MB which you can expand using the provided Memory Stick Micro M2 Slot.

In fact these are one of the lowest priced smartphones available from Sony and that’s why they are classified into new G Series.Read through for more pictures and details.

Well you can never sit steady if things like this keep coming.Here’s the leaked picture [ well, most probably it is ] of  Sony Ericsson G700i.

You will have to wait for pics of its big brother G900i though.It wont take long because Sony’s turn for announcements are just comin’ up at the Mobile World Congress 2008,Barcelona.

For now the rumoured details of the Sony G700i ,like we published some days before are:

• 2.6 inch display just like the G900i
• 3.2 Megapixel camera

IBM has announced their all new 45nm architecture based Cell Processor ,which powers the PlayStation 3 .Currently the Cell processor is being manufactured on 65nm architecture and soon IBM will be shifting to the new 45 nm ones .

The 45nm architecture is surely going to save money for the user , both in terms of power intake and manufacturing cost.Indeed IBM is doing this for Sony the biggest customer for the Cell Processor , which was in fact mainly designed as a coprocessor for Super Computers.

The shrink will make the new chip’s die to be around 34% smaller than the 65 nm architecture and each chip will consume only 60% of the power now taken into those 65 nm processors.Sooner or later Sony will be reducing the price of PS3 because of this.So keep your hopes up.

Just after the introduction of the R Series [Radio phones], Sony Ericsson is rumoured to be getting ready for the new G-Series phones and that too, by this weekend ie , by February 10th.

The new Sony Ericsson G-Series is reported to be having two new phones , G900i and G700i.Both of them might be sporting a touchscreen navigation like the new W960i smartphone.

Sony Ericsson revealed their new R series,which stand for Radio series.Just good for radio enthusiasts, R300 and R306 offer high clarity RDS enabled FM and AM Reception.

Both phones are GSM [ 850/900/18001900 Hz ].Though they are specifically built for Radio reception alone.They can playback MP3 and also the MP3’s can be used as ringtones.
